Motorcycle: BMW R 1200 R “Eddie 21”
Customizer: VTR Customs
Rider: Amelie Mooseder
VTR Customs, the customizing department of Stucki 2 Rad, already competed successfully at the 2016 edition of Essenza. This year, the Swiss bike builders are officially representing BMW Motorrad. As the successor of the Goodwood 12, VTR Customs has developed a 2017 BMW R 1200 R with a liquid-cooled boxer engine reminiscent of the brutal machines ridden by racing legend Eddie Lawson in the 80’s. As a tribute to Lawson’s race number 21, the radical Street Tracker will be called “Eddie 21”. It goes without saying that the customizers from Schmerikon built almost all of the parts in their own workshop – the aluminum fuel tank and rear, the number plates, the “Kerker”-style exhaust system and the tools. Additional racing components such as the Öhlins suspension strut, Magura HC3 pumps and BMW HP parts round off this muscular BMW racing machine.
Amelie Mooseder actually works in the field of Brand Experience in the Marketing Department of BMW Motorrad. The passionate rider already rode a BMW at full throttle as a member of the official VTR Custom factory team at the Essenza sprint series in 2016. Of course, she’ll be there again this year!
